Application Information

You may apply online to our joint UMDNJ-Graduate School of Biomedical Science at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Rutgers University PhD Programs with one easy online application.

Deadline for receipt of completed applications is January 5.  Applications received after this date will be considered only as space and funding allows.

Students applying for admission to the MS or Certificate program in Clinical and Translational Science must visit http://rwjms.umdnj.edu/education/gsbs/admissions/apply_cts.html for application instructions.

Note: It is not necessary to obtain an MS degree prior to enrolling in the doctoral programs. Do NOT use the joint UMDNJ-RWJMS/Rutgers University online application to apply for the Clinical and Translational Science program.

The following official documents must be received to consider your application complete:

  • Official transcripts from all prior colleges or universities.
  • Official General GRE (Advanced Subject Test is strongly encouraged but not required)
  • Recommendations from three individuals, preferably academic instructors, who have direct knowledge of the applicant’s academic abilities in science related fields.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) required of all foreign applicants.

All completed applications will be considered by the Interdisciplinary Joint Graduate Admissions Committee in the Molecular BioSciences except for the Graduate Programs in Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Toxicology, and Environmental Science/Exposure Assessment who consider their applicants independently.

Deadline for receipt of supporting documentation: January 15.

**All students accepted for full time study into the PhD program will receive tuition payment, paid health insurance and a competitive 12-month stipend.
