The Ethical Scientific Conduct Course schedule and room assignments will also be posted on the bulletin board outside Room N-247.

Dear Student:

As indicated on the syllabus posted at the Web site for the Ethical Scientific Conduct course, password: ******, each lecturer will post a case and possibly other material including additional cases, references, slides, etc.  You are responsible for accessing the assigned case/other material before each lecture and reviewing it, so you are ready to discuss it in class.  Discussion of cases and other materials will take place in the lecture hall, or for most topics in small groups.  The small group assignments and room locations will be available at the Web site and are listed below.

The first small group discussions will take place after a brief introductory lecture at the session scheduled for Friday January 30, 2009; you should access the cases and be prepared to discuss them in the small groups.
The small groups will meet each week either in rooms N1-N5 or C1-C5 on the second floor of the Kessler Teaching Wing of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (one floor above the West Lecture Hall).  On January 30, the groups will meet in C1-C5; check the schedule on the Web site for future locations.

You are assigned to discussion groups alphabetically, based on last name, as follows:

  • Group 1 (C1 or N1): TBD
  • Group 2 (C2 or N2): TBD
  • Group 3 (C3 or N3): TBD
  • Group 4 (C4 or N4): TBD
  • Group 5 (C5 or N5): TBD

Attendance (required to pass the course) will be taken at the small groups, except for those sessions which are only held in the West Lecture Hall.

We look forward to your active participation.

Sincerely,
Michael J. Leibowitz, M.D., Ph.D.
Course Director
